SEARCHING FOR THE “BIG FIVE” IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
On the way to Mozambique we did a stopover for 4 nights in Kruger National Park.
The aim – the sighting of the Big Five: elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard.
We went to the first of the three upcoming gamedrives a little bit skeptical as the beginning of the rainy season (November) brings dense bush and a complicated view of the wildlife.
A disappointment failed to appear. During the first day we were able to find a variety of elephants, rhinos and buffalos, as well as some lions. Only the leopard did not show up.
Kindly have a look on the pictures below to find out if we were lucky to find the leopard the next days.
The proximity to the animals is so impressive.
Both the great as well as the small animals can be approached within a few meters – and the animals come close to the jeep by themselves.
In my opinion it is highly recommended to bring a warm jacket and rain gear in case you travel in the month of November.
It is very fresh in the morning and the wind can be terrible.
I caught a big cold and hope i will feel better until diving in Mozambique will start in a couple of days…
